When your house is flooding, every second counts. Turn off all the water to the house where the water enters your home. If you don't know how, ask me the next time I'm at your house, and I'll show you how.
Once you've turned off the water, mop up the house to avoid water damage. Then take a deep breath, and look for the valve to the specific area where there is a leak. If you can't find it, call me.
"I WAS TOLD I MUST replace my shower or tub valve, RIP OUT PART OF MY WALL, and then have it repaired! THIS IS A HUGE JOB! Is there anything else I can do?"
Many Mill Valley homeowners face just this problem – until a friend or neighbor tells them to call me for a second opinion at no charge. "My kitchen sink pull-out spray faucet leaks"
Catch the leak when it's small and get it fixed right away to reduce the chance of water damage to the cabinet below the faucet. It's better to get it repaired than to turn the valve off under the sink. (The under sink valves will sometimes leak if they haven't been handled in a while and you touch them.) Call me and I'll repair the faucet if it's possible. If not, I'll replace it for you.
Some people are going back to a simple, economical, traditional style without a pull-out spray. For your convenience, I carry that kind in my van.
